EXCERPT FROM SARAS JOURNALNovember 10, 1998
Cameyrac et St. Sulpice
Im starting to concentrate. The fog is lifting. My bleary head is
clearing up and I feel as though I can think and process my pictorial ideas now. I know
that too much moving around breaks my concentration. "She stopped traveling long
enough to start painting." I also know that driving rain makes it a little hard to
look out and around. This is perfect. I feel no hindrances. I want for nothing and am
happy with whatever we do, whenever we do it, and at whatever pace. This is all good.
Combined with plenty of stimulation it is the optimum studio state. The tranquility and at
the same time, Montessori of our gite is inspiring.
Today I reviewed the website and edited a little more. My writing seems
to ebb and flow and I can see that the website and my journal lurch a little at the
beginning. Its like Alfi. Warm her up and she gets into a rhythm (I suppose this can
also be said about me in general).
I love my Paperchase pocket sketchbook but will buy some bigger paper
tomorrow in Bordeaux. Yesterday I saw a tantalizing art store in the Maderiac District.
Tomorrow is free museum day and Rich and I plan to take full advantage.
