Breaking Up
That's it! I can't take any more of this. This has gone on too long.
It's too difficult and it's getting way too complicated.
Mosey has grown to be roughly 6000 files and 45 MB. There are almost
1200 photographs and over 200 web pages. If you wondering what the other files are that
make up the balance, so am I. But my Frontpage98 manuals tell me not to delete them. Does
Microsoft own stocks in Hard Drive storage companies?
Every time we create a new page, my computer takes about 2 minutes to
save the file. Editing takes an eternity. It is as if the computer is recalculating the
whole web site. If we rename anything one might as well walk to Huelva and back -- and
this computer is a speedy one.
My solution is to "break up" Mosey into smaller compartments,
creating subwebs organized by geographic area. This new format is easy to navigate, and
much better for building and editing at our end.
Remember, we have to remain the masters of our machines. Don't let the
computer slow you down!
