EXCERPT FROM SARA’S JOURNAL

October 14, 1998

Belfast

Fergal goes into work for a few hours at the University. Kristina is sick in bed. Rich and I take a stroll  around the Ormeau Road.

Fergal takes Rich out for an authentic Belfast pub crawl. This should take a few years. Kristina struggles out of bed and we decide to see a film, Ever After. Cinderella charms the Prince with her spirit and ideas instead of superficial beauty. We meet the boys at The Bot for last orders. Every night is Belfast is busy with party-goers. All are friendly and jovial. We are introduced to more of Fergal’s friends and given advice about Western Ireland like having waterproof shoes and a sweater.
